Ethiopia: 17 October 2006 – The lives of many unfortunate flood victims in Dire Dawa, Ethiopia, were made a little bit better today, as RYTHM Foundation donated USD25,000 in cash to contribute to the well-being and rehabilitation of the village.

Through the instigating efforts of V Council Eskender Kassa, the donation was made to the Ethiopian Chamber of Commerce Vice President and Head of National Committee for Flood Stricken Region Mr Solomon Afework.
Representing RYTHM Foundation and QI Ltd, VC Eskender explained that RYTHM Foundation represents QI Ltd’s heart for humanity, and among other things, focusses on helping elevate the lives of calamity victims. Aside from this donation to Ethiopian flood victims, RYTHM Foundation has also made several donations to the Tsunami victims in Nepal, Indonesia and Thailand.

VC Eskender expressed deepest sympathy to the victims and their grieving families. On behalf of the Ethiopian Chamber of Commerce, Mr Afework spoke of a committee composed of religious leaders, famous personalities, respected citizens, artists, and victims’ representatives that had already been formed to work as a group and to ensure that all donations are properly channeled and disbursed.
