QNET's Algerian and Moroccan Employees Participate in Conservation Efforts

The QI Group takes its role seriously in the communities it operates. This approach is apparent in the pro-social and -ecological initiatives the Group engages in that reach out to people, positively impact communities, and protect our world. The latest efforts in QI’s crusade to make a positive ecological global impact took place in two separate QNET Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives in Morocco and Algeria. QNET is the Group’s global e-commerce-based direct selling company. In Algeria, 35 QNET employees and Independent Representatives (IRs) joined a reforestation initiative to rehabilitate part of a forest destroyed by wildfires last summer. Over 70 fires raged across Algeria’s northern region between August and September last year. One of the worst affected areas was the Tizi Ouzou Province, where thousands of hectares of fruit trees – a source of income for many families – were destroyed. The devastation prompted the Algerian government to launch a national tree planting campaign for 19 million trees across the affected areas. Held in conjunction with the International Day of Forests, the volunteers from Boghni planted 500 saplings for olive, pomegranate, and fig trees. Algeria’s Forests Management Department coordinated the exercise with humanitarian group Ness El Khir and environmental conservation organisation La Voix de la Nature Association (The Voice of Nature).

“We would like to thank QNET for contributing the 500 trees for this area,” said Nassir Mamri, an association representative.

 Caring For and Protecting Water Resources

In Morocco, QNET held an educational workshop in Casablanca for vulnerable rural children on the importance of preserving precious water resources. The event, organised with the Bab Rayan Association – a Casablanca-based organisation dedicated to children’s physical, emotional, intellectual, and social development – commemorated World Water Day. The children spent the day on various activities, including drawing and creating crafts around the water preservation theme. QNET also contributed 100 colouring books and numerous items from its HomePure Nova range of products. A QNET representative said, “The workshop was an important initiative to encourage the children to care for our water resources.

“We also wanted them to learn more about protecting the environment and developing the right attitude as future active citizens.”

QNET hopes to continue working with Bab Rayan to protect and care for children. A primary goal of the association is to educate disadvantaged children and provide them with the opportunity to live their childhood to the fullest.
