In conjunction with World Environment Day in June, QI Thailand staff recently gathered over the weekend to craft eco-friendly baskets, to be distributed to underprivileged students in less fortunate communities in Bangkok. The baskets were handcrafted by staff, using recycled plastic straps and woven plants. The weekend activity was an opportunity for QI staff to do their bit for the environment and to practice QI’s core value of RYTHM – Raise Yourself To Help Mankind.
A volunteer Jinny Namolpan Paereratanasomporn said it gives great joy to be part of the event and help create a better environment for the community. “As part of a green company, we are conscious of our environment and are proud to strive to do the little we can to help make it a better place.”
Another volunteer Aneesh Medina said, “Sometimes the smallest things have the most impact. It was an empowering experience to be able to not only dedicate time, but to learn and use a skill that can make a positive difference.”
Staff also planned to use the basket making skills, picked up as part of the World Environment Day activity, to create a workshop for women from underprivileged households and empower them to uplift their families.
