RYTHM Foundation, the QI Group’s corporate social responsibility arm, believes change starts at the community level. By working with local people and building strong connections, it helps transform urban communities and areas.
How does RYTHM Collaborate with Local NGOs?
We base our mission on a strong dedication to helping others. Our partnerships with local NGOs reflect this commitment.
These groups have a reliable history of creating meaningful change. Their efforts focus on education, empowerment, and protecting the environment. These are principles we prioritise and integrate into our work.
Tackling Urban Challenges
That’s why we partner with organisations that share our dedication to serving communities. Their expertise and programmes align with our vision and values, ensuring a shared goal of positive impact.
By teaming up with NGOs with deep roots in urban areas, we dive straight into the heart of these communities. With their help, we can navigate the local context and address genuine needs to create lasting change.
Shaping Urban Communities with the Help of Local NGOs
Urban communities have needs vastly different from those of their rural counterparts. Cities are densely populated and have complex infrastructure. The number of challenges can feel overwhelming for a single organisation to handle.
That’s where partnerships with NGOs make a difference. They help us navigate the challenges and focus on areas where RYTHM can create the greatest social impact.
Local NGOs bring valuable on-the-ground experience. They have access to data, logistical expertise, and strong connections within their communities. With their support, project planning and implementation become much smoother.
Urban communities are complex. That’s why we work with partner NGOs to create new projects or support grassroots initiatives where we can make a difference.
We focus on local community development by hosting roundtable discussions and strengthening partnerships in the communities we support.
Once we set a clear urban development goal, RYTHM provides support. This includes funding, knowledge, and expertise for short- and long-term projects.
Measuring the Success of NGO Partnerships
RYTHM focuses on the real-world impact of joint efforts to assess the success of its collaborations. Success is measured in three key ways:
- Beneficiaries: How many people benefit from the initiatives?
- Quality of Life: How much does their quality of life improve?
- Sustainability: Do these changes last over time?
Feedback from the community plays a significant role in this process. We listen to the voices of those we aim to help to understand what’s working and what needs adjustment. Regular, detailed reports from our NGO partners provide a clear picture of progress and outcomes.
Urban Issues Addressed by NGOs
We focus our urban community development efforts on various issues, including education, health, and social welfare.
Here are some examples of long-term NGO partnerships that have been fruitful in recent years:
We partnered with Malaysia’s PINTAR Foundation to launch the Maharani School Programme (MSP). This programme empowers adolescent girls in Selangor, one of the country’s most urbanised regions. It focuses on education, life skills training, and personal development. The MSP has since expanded to another state, Negeri Sembilan, with plans to extend to other states soon.
In Ghana’s two largest cities, Cape Coast and Accra, we collaborate with The ANOPA Project. This NGO uses sports to promote personal growth. This initiative boosts school retention rates and promotes inclusivity for children with visual and hearing impairments.
In bustling Delhi, we joined forces with NGO Plan India. Together, we support the “Safer Cities for Girls” campaign. The goal is to make the city a safe place where girls can move freely without fear.
These examples demonstrate the value of such collaborations in achieving community transformation and driving meaningful social impact.
Benefits of NGO Partnerships
The benefits of collaborating with local NGOs are profound:
- Shared Resources: Pooling resources leads to more efficient project implementation.
- Local Expertise: NGOs possess invaluable knowledge about community needs and dynamics.
- Trust Building: Working with trusted local organisations builds confidence in the community. This helps make our programs more effective.
